Guiyang Urban and Rural Planning Exhibition Hall

The Urban and Rural Planning Exhibition Hall is a place that focuses on the past, present and future of a city, and is the window of a city. The program design fully considers the regional characteristics, continues the unique natural landscape and humanistic elements of Guiyang, continues the color, material and style of the surrounding buildings, and maintains the integrity of the regional planning. In order to coordinate the retreat practice of the International Convention Center, the design reverses the retreat, forming a projection on the east and north sides, and forming a continuous roof retreat greening towards Guanshan Park. The top is made of local stone, and the Nanming River, which runs through the main urban area of Guiyang, is abstracted and pixelated to form a relief and lighting effect of the Nanming River on the stone façade. A double-layer glass curtain wall is adopted on the first and second floors at the entrance side, using the concept of windows to form a raised glass display box.

Design Essence: The Urban and Rural Planning Exhibition Hall is not only a material container carrying the history of the city's evolution, but also no longer limited to being a monument supporting the spirit of the city. The design combines the local characteristics of Guiyang to make the Guiyang Urban and Rural Planning Exhibition Hall a public and open public life, a diverse and composite display that interprets the deep relationship between people and the city, and a characteristic and relevant language that wisely reflects the inner character and spiritual characteristics of the city, thus becoming a true habitat of the city's culture and spirit.
