Shenzhen Yantian Haixi (Future) Primary School
The main function of the project is a 30-class elementary school and a social parking garage. The design divides the site into two parts - the outdoor sports field of the school is placed in the triangular plot on the west side of the site, and the other functional buildings are placed in the rectangular plot on the east side, which ensures the vertical continuation of the original urban open space while well shaping the urban image of Xiangyun Road.
From the bottom to the top, the orthogonal north-south column network makes the social parking garage have a more reasonable use space, and at the same time is more conducive to the standardized modular space of the school building superposition, economical and efficient. The non-teaching functions of the school, such as logistics, weather playground, and administration, are placed on the northeast side of the site to shield the school from noise interference from the adjacent parcels on the north side, and to enclose the school entrance plaza; while the buildings for teaching functions are located on the southeast side of the site, with the inner courtyard opening facing the west side where the landscape is better, and adjacent to the public open space. As a result, the two courtyard spaces with different characters are enclosed, giving the building an S-shaped form.
