Guiyang faces historical opportunities such as high-speed rail and big data industry, and has the opportunity to become a high-end city in the global value chain. As a core development area, the project site is forming industrial center points, but lacks organic connections; infrastructure construction is becoming more sophisticated, but the city image is disorderly; precious buildable land is preserved as a spatial opportunity for future development

Traditional urban planning constructs a two-dimensional scheme at the land level. However, this is not a good solution to the challenges faced by cities in the information age. Therefore, we adopt a "layered" strategy in our planning to respond to and optimize future-oriented lifestyles. "Layering" guarantees the flow of resources without borders, and "stacking" promotes the integration of space across categories.

 

This strategy is embodied in the four basic elements of ecological base, industrial sector, multifaceted ring, and settlement center, and the resulting organic structure. Among them, the multifaceted ring belt is a spatially rich and functionally diverse urban facility, as well as a carrier of urban life and a guide of lifestyle. The realization of the ring includes the vertical expansion of urban space, the reactivation of negative space and the negotiation and sharing of spatial rights and interests.

 

The "China-Guiyang-Guanshan Lake New City" will become a demonstration area of innovative development in the national high-speed railway economic belt and a model of new urbanization in the western inland region.
